Job summary

Godrej Industries Group in Mumbai seeks an experienced MEP Design Engineer to lead design reviews and coordinate with BIM teams for seamless integration of systems.

You will optimize energy-efficient MEP designs, review drawings and submittals, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and procurement to drive cost-effective solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with MEP design standards and local regulations.
• Knowledge of water demand calculations and elevator analysis.
• Ability to review MEP designs, reports, and submittals.
• Strong coordination with architects, structural and BIM teams.
• Experience in energy-efficient and cost-effective MEP design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure design compliance with local and international codes.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate MEP.
• Review DBR, drawings, and material submittals.
• Monitor site installs and ensure design implementation.
• Provide technical solutions during design and site meetings.
• Coordinate with procurement for cost inputs and tenders.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete understanding of local and international design standards, code & local authority requirements.
• Sound knowledge on Design calculations such as Water demand Calculations, Elevator Traffic Analysis, AC, equipment selection etc.
• Review and approve MEP designs / DBR / Reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and project specifications
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, BIM Team and consultants to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the design.
• MEP Infra design capabilities- Floor Risk analysis interpretation, Storm Water Design criteria’s, STP, etc
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures relevant to mechanical/Mechanical and plumbing engineering.
• Value Engineering / suggestions on Mechanical design requirements
• Optimize MEP designs for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Improvise design and material specifications for cost optimisation
• Experience and macro level knowledge in Electrical & ELV system.
• Good understanding of architectural and structural drawings and design intent. Good in coordination of services.
• Periodic Site visits for review of quality MEP installations and design implementation.
• Good in Co- orndation with relevant stake holders for follow up and approvals.
• Good in Review and approval of consultant / vendor drawings and material submittals.
• Attending design / Site Meetings and providing technical solutions for design / site MEP issues.
• Coordination with Commercial and procurement team for cost/design inputs and tender technical discussions.
• Coordinate with liaising department.
• Active participation in meeting and discussions with valid inputs.
• Technical review of products for rate contract.
• Coordination and document preparation for Authority submission.
• Periodic status update on deliverables to management
• Managerial:-
• Positively Motivate Leadership skills require to resolve coordination issues and inter departmental coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
• Motivated and target oriented deliverables.
• Monitor and control the project deliverables, schedule from zones MEP team, consultants and contractors.
• Manage internal & external stakeholders.
• Team work and binding force amongst group.
• Review consultant invoice and variation claim by contractors.
• Manage resources for in-house working.
• Softspoken, presentable, committed and can do approach.
• Skills:-
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Team Management & mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant tools.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Should be a team player and has positive approach to change.
• Good People management skill.
