Job summary

Asahi India Glass (AIS) is seeking an experienced Tooling Lead in Gujarat to drive new model development and establish robust tooling solutions aligned with customer milestones and mass production timelines.

You will design tools, molds, gauges, and fixtures using CATIA V5 and UG NX, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver samples and on-schedule tooling readiness. A B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and 10–12 years of domain experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10–12 years of experience in tool design and development and new model projects.
• Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 and UG NX for tooling development.

Responsibilities

• Lead new model development activities and establish tooling solutions per milestones.
• Design and develop tools, molds, bending rings, gauges, and fixtures using CATIA V5 and UG NX.
• Prepare and execute tooling project plans ensuring timely completion and sample submission.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, PPC, MPC, and vendors to ensure tooling realization.
• Drive quality assurance via design reviews, tool validation, and standards compliance (IATF/TS, TPM, TQM).
• Monitor tooling budgets, project costs, and ERP transactions including PR, MRN/SRN, and budget tracking.
• Support continuous improvement through Kaizen, TPM, QC projects, process standardization, and productivity gains.
• Manage customer interactions, audits, vendor development, and issue resolution for mass production readiness.

• Design and develop tools, molds, bending rings, gauges, and fixtures using CATIA V5 and UG NX as per customer specifications.
• Prepare and execute tooling project plans, ensuring timely completion, sample submission, and adherence to customer schedules.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, PPC, MPC, and vendors to ensure smooth tooling development and product realization.
• Drive quality assurance activities by conducting design reviews, tool validation, quality checks, and compliance with IATF/TS, TPM, and TQM standards.
• Monitor and control tooling budgets, project costs, and ERP transactions, including PR generation, MRN/SRN processing, and budget tracking.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen, TPM, QC projects, process standardization, and productivity enhancement.
• Manage customer interactions, audits, vendor development, and issue resolution to ensure successful project execution and mass production readiness.
