Job summary

Siemens Energy in Pune, India invites an experienced Application/Design/Cost Engineer to join a cross‑functional team shaping high‑voltage battery storage systems and BMS components. The role emphasizes design‑to‑cost, value engineering, and cost transparency across electronics, sourcing, and manufacturing decisions.

You will deliver should‑cost analyses, generate cost‑reduction ideas, and participate in multi‑functional workshops while collaborating with global teams and leadership to drive

Qualifications

• BE – Electronics (preferred) / BE Electrical or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Application Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Cost Engineer or similar for high voltage battery storage system, electronics component, EV battery components, BMS.
• Dedicated, proactivity and willingness to do the extra-mile.
• Experience in electronics, electrical, battery storage system, EV battery components, BMS.
• Extensive proven understanding of how design, technical, automation, sourcing, and logistics decisions affect cost and/or schedule.
• Proven knowledge within the fields of Innovative Design to Value, DtC, Customer Value und Cost-Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Improve competitiveness and profitability through cost engineering methods and Should Costing, MLPP, CBD; achieve cost transparency for 3rd party scopes.
• Support Design-to-Cost DtC or R&D PDP to ensure new products are designed at efficient cost while meeting quality targets.
• Deliver should cost analysis and supplier offers willingness to find the most driven option.
• Build and collect new cost-out ideas for SE portfolio in multi-functional workshops.
• Ensure CVE initiatives are input and supervised in PRIOneer cost tracking software.
• Support proposals teams to ensure all relevant cost measures are mature and considered.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings up to executive leadership.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• The tactical responsibilities include improvement of competitiveness and profitability of Siemens Energy business through brand new Cost and Value Engineering methods and expertise e.g. TcPCM / aPriori / other tools for Should Costing, MLPP, CBD. You achieve cost transparency for 3rd party scopes.
• The strategic responsibilities include supporting the overall Design-to-Cost DtC or R&D Product Development Process (PDP) to ensure new products are designed at efficient cost while meeting quality targets. Activities include efficiency project creation and report management, innovation team leadership, design for manufacturing methodology leadership, and voice of the customer analysis.
• Deliver should cost analysis and full supplier offer willingness to find most driven one
• Build and collect new cost-out ideas for SE portfolio, participating in multi-functional WS.
• Ensure that product CVE initiatives/measures are being accurately input and supervised in the relevant product cost tracking software (PRIOneer).
• Support proposals teams to ensure all relevant cost measures not fully mature are being considered if appropriate, to guarantee the most efficient solutions.
• Facilitating and participating meetings at all levels of management up to and including the executive leadership team

What You Bring

• BE – Electronics (preferred) / BE Electrical or Equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Application Engineer, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Cost Engineer or similar for high voltage battery storage system, electronics component, EV battery components, BMS (battery management system)
• Dedicated, proactivity and willingness to do the extra-mile
• Experience in electronics, electrical, battery storage system, EV battery components, BMS (battery management system)
• Extensive proven understanding of how design, technical, automation, sourcing, and logistics decisions affect cost and/or schedule.
• MS Office Suite proficiency
• Proven knowledge within the fields of Innovative Design to Value, DtC, Customer Value und Cost-Analysis
