Job summary

Buzzworks Business Services in Chennai is seeking a Contracting Manager / Senior Manager to lead end-to-end contractual and commercial activities for EPC projects. You will review tender documents, negotiate terms and draft contracts, while managing change orders, claims and disputes.

The role requires strong negotiation, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills, with willingness to travel across India and overseas as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering is required.
• LLB or PG in Contract/PM preferred.
• Proven experience in EPC contract drafting and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, bid documents and terms; identify risks and prepare deviations and clarifications.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer contracts, subcontracts, service agreements and purchase contracts.
• Manage contractual obligations, notices, change orders, EOT, variations, price escalation and disputes.
• Prepare and manage claims related to costs, delays and force majeure.
• Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Projects, and HQ Contracting teams on arbitration and litigation matters.

Job Title: CONTRACTING MANAGER / SENIOR MANAGER

Location: CHENNAI

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end contractual and commercial activities for EPC projects, from tender review and contract negotiation through post-award contract administration.
• Review RFPs, tender documents, bid packages and contractual terms; identify risks and prepare contractual deviations, qualifications and clarifications.
• Draft, review and negotiate customer contracts, subcontracts, service agreements and purchase contracts.
• Manage contractual obligations, notices, correspondence, change orders, EOT, variations, price escalation, deductions, withheld payments and contractual disputes.
• Prepare and manage claims relating to additional costs, delays, variations and force majeure.
• Support Procurement on vendor/subcontractor claims and coordinate with Legal on arbitration and litigation matters.
• Maintain contract risk registers, claims trackers and management MIS, while working closely with Projects, Sales, Procurement, Finance, Legal and HQ Contracting teams.

Technical Requirements:

• 1015 years of relevant Contracts & Commercial experience in EPC projects, preferably within Steel, Heavy Engineering, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power or Industrial EPC.
• Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, FIDIC conditions, Indian Contract Act, arbitration, claims management and contract administration.
• Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, commercial risk management, change orders, EOT and claims handling.
• Proficiency in MS Office; exposure to MS Project / Primavera is desirable.
• Willingness to travel to customer offices and project sites across India and overseas, as required.
