e2E RAIL Group is seeking an experienced Contracts professional to manage the complete lifecycle of EPC/railway contracts from award through closure, with emphasis on administration, claims, variations and risk management.

The role requires strong exposure to EPC contracts, project execution and commercial negotiations within railway infrastructure projects; collaboration with Projects, Planning, Finance and Legal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Commerce or related discipline.
  • A qualification in Contracts Management, Commercial Management or Law will be an advantage.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in contracts/commercial management.
  • Experience in EPC, railway, metro, infrastructure, construction or engineering projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: manage contracts from award through execution, completion and closure.
  • Review terms, conditions, BOQ and scope; ensure compliance with milestones and deliverables.
  • Maintain records of documents, notices, correspondence and approvals.
  • Identify and evaluate claims, variations, EOT and additional costs.
  • Prepare and submit notices, claims and variation proposals; support negotiations with clients/subcontractors.
  • Draft and review contractual letters, notices and commercial communications.
  • Support commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers; monitor payments and penalties.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and Legal.

Assistant Manager/ Manager - Legal and Contracts

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Contracts professional to manage the complete contract lifecycle for EPC/railway infrastructure projects. The role will be responsible for contract administration, claims, variations, commercial negotiations, risk management and ensuring contractual compliance with customers, subcontractors and vendors.

The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to EPC contracts, project execution, contractual correspondence, claims management and commercial negotiations, preferably within the railway, metro, infrastructure or engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Administration
  • Manage contracts from award through execution, completion and closure.
  • Review and interpret contractual terms, conditions, specifications, BOQ and scope of work.
  • Ensure project teams comply with contractual obligations, milestones and deliverables.
  • Maintain proper records of contractual documents, notices, correspondence and approvals.
  • Track key contractual dates, obligations, milestones and deliverables.
2. Claims & Variations
  • Identify and evaluate potential claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT) and additional cost opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit contractual notices, claims and variation proposals.
  • Analyze delays, disruptions and changes impacting project cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate with project, planning, engineering and finance teams for claim substantiation.
  • Support negotiations and settlement of claims with clients, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Draft and review contractual letters, notices, replies and commercial communications.
  • Ensure timely issuance of notices in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contract correspondence and notice register.
  • Advise project teams on contractual implications of important communications and decisions.
4. Commercial & Negotiation
  • Support commercial negotiations with customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review subcontractor/vendor agreements, amendments and commercial terms.
  • Monitor contractual payments, deductions, penalties, LDs, securities and other commercial obligations.
  • Assist in resolving commercial disputes and contractual issues.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks during project execution.
  • Maintain a Contract Risk Register and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Highlight potential exposure related to delays, LDs, scope changes, price escalation and non-compliance.
  • Provide timely contractual advice to project management.
6. Project Coordination
  • Work closely with Project Management, Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Finance and Legal teams.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide contractual/commercial inputs.
  • Ensure project decisions are aligned with contractual rights and obligations.
  • Support management in major contractual negotiations and escalations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Commerce or related discipline.
  • A qualification in Contracts Management, Commercial Management or Law will be an advantage.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in contracts/commercial management.
  • Experience in EPC, railway, metro, infrastructure, construction or engineering projects preferred.

  • Good knowledge of claims, variations, EOT and delay analysis.
  • Strong contractual drafting and correspondence skills.
  • Commercial negotiation and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, BOQs, specifications and project documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of project schedules and cost implications.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
