Consultant - Pediatrician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The includes paediatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, management of acute and chronic conditions, emergency support, growth and development monitoring, vaccination guidance, counselling, and coordination with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and child-focused healthcare.

• Evaluate infants, children, and adolescents with medical concerns.
• Obtain relevant medical, birth, developmental, and family histories.
• Perform age-appropriate clinical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common and complex paediatric conditions.
• Review laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic investigations.
• Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans.
• Monitor growth, development, nutrition, and general health.
• Provide appropriate guidance regarding immunization and preventive healthcare.
• Manage paediatric emergencies and provide timely stabilization.
• Monitor response to treatment and modify plans as required.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within professional scope.
• Coordinate with neonatology, paediatric surgery, radiology, laboratory, nursing, and other departments.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, and follow-up consultations.
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, and home care.
• Maintain accurate paediatric medical records and clinical documentation.
• Identify cases requiring specialist referral or multidisciplinary management.
• Participate in clinical rounds, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and child protection protocols.
• Guide junior doctors and clinical staff as appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and respectful communication with children and families.
