Job Description

Consultant - ENT is responsible for diagnosing and managing disorders of the ear, nose, throat, and related head and neck structures. The includes clinical evaluation, diagnostic assessment, medical and surgical treatment, emergency care, procedural management, patient counselling, and follow-up. The consultant coordinates with audiology, radiology, anaesthesia, nursing, and other clinical teams to provide safe and comprehensive patient care.

• Evaluate patients with ear, nose, throat, and head and neck conditions.
• Obtain detailed medical history and perform appropriate ENT examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common and complex ENT disorders.
• Review audiometry, imaging, laboratory, and other diagnostic reports.
• Develop individualized medical or surgical treatment plans.
• Perform ENT procedures and surgeries within professional scope.
• Manage ear infections, hearing disorders, sinus conditions, and throat disorders.
• Evaluate and manage head and neck conditions requiring specialist care.
• Attend to ENT emergencies and provide appropriate stabilization.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
• Monitor treatment response and modify management plans when required.
• Coordinate with audiologists, radiologists, anaesthetists, and nursing teams.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient, and referral consultations.
• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation.
• Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, and follow-up.
• Refer patients for multidisciplinary care when required.
• Follow infection prevention, surgical safety, and patient care protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and quality improvement activities.
• Guide junior doctors and clinical staff as appropriate.
