Job summary

Aarvi Encon is seeking an experienced Construction Quality NDT Lead Inspector to lead NDT activities for an FPSO construction project. You will ensure welds, materials and critical components meet project specs and international standards while maintaining HSE compliance.

The role requires 10+ years in NDT within Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO or Shipbuilding, with FPSO exposure preferred and ASNT Level III certification. Strong leadership, planning and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Structural, or Marine Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of NDT experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO or Shipbuilding projects.
• FPSO construction experience is highly preferred and ASNT Level III certification is essential.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and ISO standards; PAUT/AUT and Digital Radiography experience advantageous.
• AWS, CSWIP or equivalent certification desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership, inspection planning, and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all NDT activities including UT, RT, MT/MPT, PT/DPT and ECT.
• Plan and schedule inspections per construction milestones and quality requirements.
• Ensure NDT activities comply with ASME, API, ISO, ASTM and client specifications.
• Supervise, train and monitor NDT inspectors; ensure competency and certification.
• Review NDT results, identify defects and manage NCRs and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate NDT inspection reports and test records.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Construction and Project teams.
• Ensure safe execution in hazardous/offshore environments.
• Monitor NDT equipment, procedures and data analysis.
• Support continuous improvement through advanced NDT technologies.

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of welds, materials and critical components through NDT inspection, while maintaining compliance with project specifications, international standards and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all NDT activities including UT, RT, MT/MPT, PT/DPT and ECT.
• Plan and schedule NDT inspections according to construction milestones and quality requirements.
• Ensure NDT activities comply with ASME, API, ISO, ASTM, client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise, train and monitor NDT inspectors and ensure certification/competency compliance.
• Review NDT results, identify defects and manage NCRs and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate NDT inspection reports, test records and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Construction and Project teams for inspection activities.

• Support continuous improvement through advanced NDT technologies and techniques.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Structural, Marine Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of NDT experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO or Shipbuilding projects.
• FPSO construction experience is highly preferred.
• Valid ASNT Level III certification in one or more NDT methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT and/or ET.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and ISO standards.
• Experience with PAUT, AUT and Digital Radiography will be an advantage.
• AWS, CSWIP or equivalent certification is desirable.
• Strong leadership, inspection planning, quality management and team coordination skills.
• Good knowledge of NDT equipment, data analysis and automated NDT systems.
• Strong understanding of HSE, radiation safety and offshore safety requirements.
