Durucooperation in Chennai seeks an experienced QC Lead – NDT to lead site NDT and quality control inspection activities, ensuring compliance with procedures, codes, and client requirements. The role oversees NDT teams, reviews reports, and drives timely resolution of quality issues.
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 15 years in oil & gas projects for NDT methods, and advanced NDT certifications. On-site work 6 days a week with 10-hour shifts is expected.
We are seeking an experienced QC Lead – NDT to lead and coordinate NDT and quality control inspection activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements. The candidate will oversee NDT activities, coordinate inspection teams, review technical documentation and reports, and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
Lead and coordinate day-to-day NDT and QC inspection activities at site.
Coordinate NDT personnel and ensure execution of RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PWHT, HT, and PMI activities as applicable.
Review NDT procedures, reports, inspection requests, test results, and related quality documentation.
Witness and monitor NDT examinations and ensure compliance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
Review and interpret radiographic films and relevant NDT reports where applicable.
Monitor NDT technicians and ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
Coordinate with client, contractor, QC, construction, and inspection teams for timely completion of inspection activities.
Monitor repair/re-shoot joints and ensure appropriate follow-up and closure.
Maintain NDT records, daily production reports, inspection logs, and quality documentation.
Support inspection planning, scheduling, surveillance, and quality reporting.
Identify quality deviations/non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions.
Ensure all inspection activities are performed in accordance with the approved Quality Control Plan (QCP), ITP, project specifications, and applicable codes.
Provide technical support for welding, material, dimensional, and NDT-related inspections as required.
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum 15 years of experience with Oil & Gas Projects for all NDT methods (both structural and Piping).
Minimum 5 years of experience in advance NDT techniques (PAUT , TofD , AUT)
Strong experience in NDT and QC inspection, preferably within Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, or similar projects.
Proven experience coordinating/supervising NDT activities and inspection teams.
Valid relevant NDT Level II/III certifications as required for the assigned scope.
Hands-on knowledge of RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, PWHT, HT, and PMI.
Strong knowledge of applicable NDT, welding, inspection, and quality standards/codes.
Experience in NDT documentation, reporting, inspection requests, and quality records.
Strong coordination and communication skills with client and contractor teams.
Ability to work 10 hours per day, 6 days per week in a site-based environment.
