Key Responsibilities:

The Collections Specialist is responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing client base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. This position will report to the Collections Supervisor.

• Monitoring accounts to identify overdue payments
• Finding and contacting debtors to arrange debt payoffs
• Keeping accurate records and reporting on collection activity
• Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.
• Resolve billing and customer credit issues: Resolves client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.
• Investigate historical data for each debt or bill. Find and contact clients to ask about their overdue payments
• Take actions to encourage timely debt payments. Process payments and refunds

Skills Required (General):

• Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
• Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g. skip tracing)
• Familiarity with laws related to debt collection in Australia
• Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
• Comfortable working with targets
• Skilled in negotiation
