Job summary

Shree Jagannath Charitable Cancer Hospital is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer to read and interpret construction drawings, supervise RCC works, and ensure quality on site. You will verify line, level, and dimensions while coordinating with contractors to achieve compliance with drawings and BOQ.

The role requires practical knowledge of AutoCAD, reinforcement detailing, measurement, and basic surveying, with a focus on timely, accurate execution and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Site Engineer with ability to read construction drawings independently.
• Understanding drawing scales, dimensions, levels and structural details.
• Calculate material quantities from drawings for RCC and civil works.
• Inspect ongoing work and ensure RCC reinforcement and structural work quality.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors and labourers to ensure adherence to drawings and quality standards.
• Maintain measurements, records and progress reports on site.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand Architectural, Structural, Civil & RCC drawings independently.
• Translate drawings into site execution and check line, level, plumb, dimensions and alignment.
• Check reinforcement of foundation, columns, beams and slabs including bar diameter, spacing, lap, anchorage and cover.
• Supervise excavation, PCC, RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plaster, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Coordinate and communicate with contractors and labourers to ensure work as per drawings and quality standards.
• Calculate quantities of construction materials as per drawings and site requirements.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand Architectural, Structural, Civil & RCC drawings independently.
• Understand and work with drawing scales (1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200), dimensions, levels, sections, grid lines and structural details.
• Translate drawings accurately into site execution and check line, level, plumb, dimensions and alignment.
• Check reinforcement of foundation, columns, beams and slabs, including bar diameter, spacing, lap, anchorage and cover.
• Supervise excavation, PCC, RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, plaster, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Ensure construction strictly follows approved drawings, specifications and BOQ.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors and labourers to ensure that the work is executed as per approved drawings and required quality standards.
• Calculate quantities of different construction materials accurately as per drawings and site requirements.
• Verify site measurements, quantities and contractor bills before submission to management.
• Identify defective work, deviations and drawing discrepancies and ensure timely rectification.
• Maintain Daily Site Reports, measurements, photographs and progress records.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects and structural consultants.

Candidate Requirement

We need a hands-on Site Engineer, not merely a contractor supervisor. He must be able to:

• Calculate material quantities from drawings.
• Understand RCC reinforcement and structural work.
• Inspect ongoing work at site and ensure quality.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors and labourers.
• Identify mistakes, defects and deviations from drawings.
• Ensure timely and correct execution of the work.
• Maintain proper measurements, records and progress reports.

A practical test of drawing reading, RCC reinforcement, quantity calculation, levels/dimensions, site execution and site defect identification may be conducted during selection.
