Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) invites experienced Civil Surveyors for a 400 kV Transmission Line and Substation EPCM project at Rapar, Gujarat. You will perform and supervise land, topographical, and construction surveys to support successful execution.

The role requires 5–12 years in survey activities for power, infrastructure, or EPC projects, with hands-on use of Total Station, DGPS, GPS, AutoCAD, and survey software. Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Survey Engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 to 12 years of experience in survey activities for Power Transmission, Substation, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Industrial, or EPC/EPCM projects.
• Hands-on experience in transmission line route survey, tower spotting, profiling, and substation layout surveys.
• Working knowledge of Total Station, DGPS, GPS, AutoCAD, and survey software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, cadastral maps, topographical maps, and layout plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform topographical, contour, route alignment, and construction surveys for 400 kV Transmission Line and Substation projects.
• Conduct transmission tower spotting, profiling, route verification, and foundation location surveys.
• Execute layout marking for substation buildings, equipment foundations, roads, drains, cables, and other civil works.
• Handle survey instruments such as Total Station, DGPS, GPS, Auto Level, and related survey equipment.
• Verify coordinates, elevations, benchmarks, and survey data as per project drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and construction teams for accurate setting-out activities.
• Prepare and maintain survey records, reports, drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Monitor contractor survey activities and ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings.
• Assist in quantity verification and measurement of executed works.
• Support the project team in resolving alignment, level, and dimensional issues during construction.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project procedures at site.

About the Opportunity

Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) is looking for experienced Civil Surveyors for a prestigious 400 kV Transmission Line and Substation EPCM Project at Rapar, Gujarat. The selected professionals will be responsible for carrying out and supervising land, topographical, and construction surveys to support the successful execution of transmission line and substation works.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5 to 12 years of experience in survey activities for Power Transmission, Substation, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Industrial, or EPC/EPCM projects.
• Hands-on experience in transmission line route survey, tower spotting, profiling, and substation layout surveys.
• Working knowledge of Total Station, DGPS, GPS, AutoCAD, and survey software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, cadastral maps, topographical maps, and layout plans.
• Good understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and construction methodologies.
• Strong coordination, reporting, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in 220 kV / 400 kV / 765 kV Transmission Line and Substation Projects.
• Exposure to EPC/EPCM project environments.
• Experience in preparation of survey reports, route profiles, alignment sheets, and as-built drawings.
• Familiarity with GIS applications and digital survey data processing.
