Job summary

Mahaganpati Associate in Chennai seeks a Civil Design Coordinator to manage multi-discipline coordination across architectural, structural, electrical and MEP drawings. You will liaise with clients, architects and execution teams to ensure alignment and timely approvals of designs.

Ideal candidates have BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering with experience in design coordination for metro rail, terminals or infrastructure projects, plus strong communication and meeting management skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients, architects, structural and MEP consultants and other design teams.
• Participate in design review meetings and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Review drawings and identify discrepancies and interface issues.
• Prepare meeting minutes and track action items.
• Coordinate RFIs, technical queries, and design changes.
• Liaise between client, design team, project management, and site engineers.
• Monitor design deliverables and ensure latest drawings are available for site execution.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Coordinate with clients, architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and other design teams.

Participate in design review meetings, client discussions, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.

Understand client requirements and communicate them to the respective design and execution teams.

Coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire-fighting drawings.

Review drawings from all departments and identify discrepancies, clashes, and interface issues.

Follow up with design consultants for drawing approvals, revisions, and technical clarifications.

Prepare meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure timely closure of pending issues.

Coordinate RFIs, technical queries, and design changes with the concerned stakeholders.

Liaise between the client, design team, project management team, and site engineers.

Monitor design deliverables and ensure the latest approved drawings are available for site execution.

Support project planning, progress reviews, and resolution of design-related site issues.

Preferred candidate profile

B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Experience in design coordination, client coordination, and multidisciplinary construction projects.

Experience in Metro Rail, bus terminal, commercial building, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Good understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

Strong communication, meeting management, and coordination skills.

Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit is an advantage.
