Job summary

KEC International invites a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our Mumbai team. You will perform structural analysis, develop design calculations, and produce engineering deliverables for industrial, infrastructure, and building projects, ensuring compliance with Indian and international codes.

Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD and related tools is required. You will coordinate with Architecture, MEP, and other disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; ME/MTech preferred.
• Extensive experience in RCC, steel and composite structures.
• Familiar with Indian and international codes (IS and others).
• Experience in EPC/Engineering Consultancy environments.

Role & responsibilities

• Perform and review structural analysis, design calculations, design reports and engineering deliverables.
• Develop safe, economical and constructible RCC, steel, composite and foundation solutions.
• Prepare/review DBRs, calculation reports, GA/GFC drawings, reinforcement/detailing drawings, fabrication/shop drawings, specifications, BOQs and MTOs.
• Coordinate with Architecture, MEP, Fire Fighting, Process, PEB and Infrastructure disciplines and resolve design interfaces.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submissions and interdisciplinary deliverables.
• Support tender/proposal engineering, quantity estimation, technical evaluation and value engineering.
• Provide construction-stage support including RFIs, NCRs, site queries, design modifications and field-change assessments; undertake site visits as required.
• Plan and monitor engineering deliverables to meet project quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers and contribute to technical reviews and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of RCC, steel, composite and foundation design, including static/dynamic analysis, wind, seismic and response spectrum analysis, and design optimization.
• Strong knowledge of relevant IS Codes and familiarity with applicable international codes.
• Hands-on proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, RCDC, SAFE, MIDAS etc.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks; Tekla Structures desirable.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and BIM/multidisciplinary coordination.

Preferred candidate profile
Experienced Civil/Structural Design Engineer responsible for independently executing and delivering civil and structural engineering design for industrial, infrastructure (Metro, Airports, Rail, Highways, Utilities), manufacturing, Data Centres, commercial, healthcare, institutional, and building projects.The role covers structural analysis, detailed design, engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, BOQs/MTOs, technical coordination, design reviews, and construction support, ensuring compliance with applicable Indian/international codes, project specifications, quality, safety, and schedule requirements B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering preferred.68 years of relevant civil/structural design experience in Engineering Consultancy/EPC environments.Proven experience in RCC, structural steel, composite structures, foundations, water/liquid-retaining structures, and pipe racks etc.Exposure to project lifecycle stages from Concept/Basic Engineering and Tender Engineering through Detailed Engineering and Construction Support.Professional institution membership is an advantage.
