Job summary

PeopleStrong seeks a Design Coordinator - MEP to coordinate, review, and manage mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV designs for complex projects. You will lead cross-disciplinary reviews, coordinate BIM/3D model work, validate layouts, track changes, and support construction through commissioning and handover.

A BE/BTech in ME or EE with 5+ years of experience and strong BIM/coordinator skills are required.

Qualifications

Job Description

The Design Coordinator - MEP is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV, and associated building services designs to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with client requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and construction schedules. The role involves liaising with consultants, clients, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure multidisciplinary design integration and clash-free execution. The coordinator shall review design drawings, BIM models, shop drawings, technical submittals, design calculations, and material specifications to ensure constructability, compliance, and coordination among all disciplines.

Key responsibilities include conducting design review meetings, identifying and resolving interdisciplinary clashes, coordinating BIM and 3D model reviews, validating equipment layouts, utility routing, plant room arrangements, and interface requirements between Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP systems. The Design Coordinator shall ensure timely issuance of coordinated drawings, manage design changes, track RFIs and design clarifications, support value engineering initiatives, and ensure compliance with local authority, client, and project standards. The role also includes monitoring design progress, supporting procurement activities through technical evaluations, coordinating vendor submissions, and providing engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover phases.

The candidate should possess strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV systems, BIM coordination, clash detection, engineering standards, and multidisciplinary project delivery processes. Experience in Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, or Infrastructure Projects is preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM platforms, and MS Office is essential. A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant MEP design coordination experience is required. Strong technical, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are essential for ensuring efficient design delivery and successful project execution.
