Qualifications

• Qualification is B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in civil construction/project execution; hospital exposure preferred.
• Strong skills in contractor management, BOQ, estimation, billing, planning, site execution, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute civil construction, renovation, expansion, and infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
• Review architectural, structural, civil, and interior drawings against approved designs.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP, interior, biomedical teams, and stakeholders for smooth execution.
• Prepare and review BOQ, quantity estimates, material requirements, technical specifications, and budgets.
• Supervise contractors and site teams to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and timelines.
• Monitor progress against schedule, milestones, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, identify issues, deviations, and delays; implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate drawing/material approvals and design modifications with consultants/contractors.
• Ensure execution of civil, structural, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, finishing works and MEP coordination.
• Verify material samples and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Manage procurement and timely availability of materials; verify bills and quantities.

Job Title: Project Civil Engineer

Reporting To: Project Head

Job Purpose

To plan, execute, and monitor civil and infrastructure projects within the hospital, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining quality, safety, cost, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute civil construction, renovation, expansion, and infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
• Review architectural, structural, civil, and interior drawings and ensure execution as per approved designs and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, interior teams, biomedical teams, and other stakeholders for smooth project execution.
• Prepare and review BOQ, quantity estimates, material requirements, technical specifications, and project budgets.
• Supervise civil contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
• Monitor project progress against the approved schedule, milestones, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and identify technical issues, deviations, and potential delays.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors for drawing approvals, material approvals, technical clarifications, and design modifications.
• Ensure proper execution of civil, structural, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, false ceiling, painting, external development, and other finishing works.
• Ensure coordination of civil works with MEP, HVAC, fire-fighting, medical gas, electrical, plumbing, and ELV services.
• Review material samples and ensure that construction materials meet approved specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor procurement and ensure timely availability of construction materials at the project site.
• Verify contractor measurements, work quantities, running bills, and final bills against actual site execution and approved BOQ.
• Identify project risks, delays, and cost overruns and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, applicable IS codes, fire safety requirements, local statutory requirements, and hospital standards.
• Ensure implementation of appropriate site safety practices, work permits, PPE, and safety protocols.
• Manage snagging, de-snagging, defect rectification, and final project closure.
• Maintain project documentation including approved drawings, BOQ, measurement sheets, inspection reports, material approvals, test reports, as-built drawings, and handover documents.
• Coordinate with the operations/facility team during project handover and ensure all required documents and warranties are transferred.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide regular updates on project progress, cost, quality, risks, and pending activities.
• Support cost optimization and value engineering initiatives without compromising project quality.
• Ensure minimum disruption to ongoing hospital operations during renovation and construction activities.

Hospital Project Exposure

• Experience in hospital construction, renovation, expansion, or redevelopment projects will be preferred.
• Knowledge of working in live/operational hospital environments with infection-control and safety considerations.
• Exposure to NABH requirements, fire & life safety, accessibility, and healthcare infrastructure standards.
• Experience in coordination of civil works with medical infrastructure and MEP services will be an added advantage.

Qualification & Experience

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 810 years of relevant experience in civil construction/project execution, preferably in hospitals, healthcare, commercial buildings, hotels, or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in contractor management, BOQ, estimation, billing, project planning, site execution, and quality control.
