Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to oversee the construction, maintenance, repair, renovation, and development of civil infrastructure

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and manage civil construction, repair, renovation, and maintenance activities across the medical college, hospital, hostels, residential buildings, laboratories, classrooms, administrative buildings, and other campus facilities.
• Inspect buildings and infrastructure regularly to identify structural defects, seepage, cracks, deterioration, drainage issues, and other civil maintenance requirements.
• Prepare estimates, BOQs, technical specifications, and work schedules for civil works.
• Review architectural and structural drawings and ensure execution as per approved designs and specifications.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors and monitor the quality and progress of work.
• Verify measurements, bills, material quantities, and work completion against approved specifications.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire-safety, biomedical, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Ensure that construction and maintenance activities do not disrupt critical hospital and medical college operations.
• Plan and supervise civil works in sensitive areas such as operation theatres, ICUs, laboratories, diagnostic areas, wards, emergency departments, and other clinical facilities, while maintaining appropriate safety and infection-control requirements.
• Monitor the quality of construction materials and workmanship and arrange necessary testing where required.

Ensure compliance with applicable building regulations, fire and life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, and institutional policies.

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of buildings, roads, parking areas, boundary walls, drainage systems, water-retaining structures, and other civil infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve complaints related to civil works, including water leakage, dampness, flooring, plastering, doors/windows, roofing, drainage, and structural defects.
• Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, measurements, estimates, work orders, drawings, and project progress.
• Assist in preparation of annual maintenance plans, capital expenditure proposals, and infrastructure development plans.
• Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety practices at construction and maintenance sites.
• Coordinate statutory inspections and support compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Provide technical advice to management regarding repairs, renovations, structural concerns, and infrastructure development.
• Participate in emergency maintenance activities when required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a recognized institution.
• Experience in building construction, hospital/healthcare infrastructure, institutional projects, or facility maintenance is preferred.
• Good knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, quantity estimation, and project supervision.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with MS Office and relevant engineering/project-management software.
