Job summary

HireBound is hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a client to lead technology strategy, architecture, engineering, and AI product development.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role combining strong full-stack expertise with software architecture, AWS infrastructure, AI product development, and product management. You will own the technology roadmap, build scalable systems, and lead engineering delivery as the business scales.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Node.js and React development experience.
• Expert in software architecture and scalable systems.
• Experience building AI-powered products beyond APIs.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks, vector databases, and model orchestration.
• Hands-on AWS with Lambda/Serverless, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, Bedrock.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, security, and monitoring.
• Good product management, roadmap planning, and delivery ownership.
• Ability to balance strategy and execution in a lean environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture and scalable systems.
• Guide development with Node.js and React; review code.
• Build and scale AI-powered products using AI frameworks, vector DBs, model orchestration, and inference.
• Own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, security, using AWS services like Lambda, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, Bedrock.
• Translate business goals into a technology roadmap and own product delivery, including digital sales journeys and payment integrations.
• Lead and mentor engineers, collaborate with external development partners, and establish scalable processes.

This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who can combine strong full-stack engineering expertise with software architecture, AWS infrastructure, AI product development, and product management. You will own the technology roadmap, build scalable systems, improve DevOps practices, and lead engineering delivery as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology & Architecture: Own end-to-end architecture, design scalable systems, document existing platforms, and establish engineering best practices.
• Full-Stack Development: Leverage strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and React to guide development, review code, and build reliable applications.
• AI Product Development: Build and scale real AI-powered products using AI frameworks, vector databases, model orchestration, and inference technologies.
• AWS & DevOps: Own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, security, and reliability using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, and Bedrock.
• Product Management: Translate business goals into a technology roadmap, prioritise features, and own end-to-end product delivery, including digital sales journeys and payment integrations.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers, collaborate with external development partners, and establish scalable engineering and delivery processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Node.js and React.
• Proven expertise in software architecture, technical design, and building scalable applications.
• Practical experience building and deploying AI-powered products, beyond basic API integrations.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks, vector databases, model orchestration, and inference.
• Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda/Serverless, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, and Amazon Bedrock.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and application security.
• Good product management skills, including roadmap planning, prioritisation, and delivery ownership.
• Ability to balance strategic decision-making with hands-on execution in a lean, fast-moving environment.

• Experience scaling products across emerging markets.
