Qualifications

• B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry or Diploma / B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Production or Polymer Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in solvent-based adhesives manufacturing and batch making.
• Knowledge of production planning, packaging operations, GMP/ISO systems, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day production activities for solvent-based adhesives per plan.
• Monitor batch processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Oversee packaging (primary & secondary) and labeling activities.
• Coordinate with QA and Dispatch for smooth material movement.
• Ensure compliance with ISO quality systems and GMP guidelines.
• Lead shift teams and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and planning.

Role Overview

Astral Adhesives is looking for a Production Officer to manage the manufacturing of solvent-based adhesives at the Santej plant. The candidate should have hands-on experience in adhesive manufacturing, production planning, solvent handling, packing operations, and shop floor management while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Execute day-to-day production activities for solvent-based adhesives as per the production plan.
• Monitor batch manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality and process efficiency.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and raw materials.

Process & Production Planning

• Coordinate production planning to meet retail business demand and delivery schedules.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and smooth production flow.
• Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.

Packing Operations

• Supervise primary and secondary packaging activities.
• Ensure correct packing, labeling, batch coding, and dispatch readiness of finished products.
• Coordinate with QA and Dispatch teams for smooth material movement.

Quality & Compliance

• Follow ISO Quality Management Systems, SOPs, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Maintain production records, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and shift reports.
• Support internal and external quality audits.

Safety & EHS

• Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and plant safety procedures.
• Follow safe handling practices for solvents and hazardous chemicals.
• Promote 5S practices and maintain a clean, safe, and organized workplace.

Team Management

• Supervise operators and production workers during shifts.
• Allocate manpower effectively to achieve production targets.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning teams for smooth operations.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Hands-on experience in Manufacturing of Solvent-Based Adhesives / Chemical Products
• Knowledge of Production Planning in a retail manufacturing environment
• Experience in Primary & Secondary Packaging Operations
• Basic knowledge of ISO Quality Systems and 5S
• Understanding of Solvent Handling and Chemical Safety
• Hands-on experience with PP Matrix (Production Planning Matrix)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Email Communication
