Job summary

Sika India is seeking an Assistant Manager – Production Department at Jhagadia to oversee planning and execution of production with focus on efficiency, cost control, and compliance with EHS & QMS.

You will lead operations, manage manpower, coordinate with maintenance, and drive Lean initiatives while upholding ISO 9001/14001 standards and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years in specialty chemicals, paints or construction chemicals.
• Experience implementing 5S and Lean practices.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
• Experience with batch production and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Execute small and medium sized projects in a time bound and safe manner.
• Plan and execute production activities based on planned manpower to meet quality specs.
• Ensure proper accounting of semi-finished, advanced intermediate & finished goods in ERP/AX9.
• Maintain minimum stock quantity as defined by supply chain.
• Follow safety policies and environmental norms including PPE use.
• Implement ISO and 5S in the production area.
• Coach and guide employees and contractors to meet targets.

Overview

This position is responsible for planning and execution of production as per Supply Chain requirement with maximum efficiency and least cost along with EHS & QMS compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute small and medium sized projects in a time bound and safe manner.
• Have a good understanding of Mixers, Dissolvers, Packing Machine, chiller, compressor, basic engineering know-how and good understanding of powder and liquid formulation processes.
• Plan and execute production activities based on planned manpower requirements to meet quality specifications.
• Ensure proper accounting of semi-finished, advanced intermediate & finished goods in ERP/AX9.
• Maintain minimum stock quantity as defined by supply chain.
• Proper accounting of all RM/PM/IM received from stores and handover of finished goods to ensure avoidance/pilferage of goods and wastages.
• Follow safe working policies; follow health, safety, environmental protection norms, including use of safety equipment.
• Ensure good housekeeping, logical material handling to ensure efficiency and enhance safety.
• Strictly follow the systems and procedures as per ISO 9001 and 14001.
• Implement 5S system in Production area.
• Coach and guide employees and contractors to ensure safe production targets are met or exceeded.
• Improve batch cycle time using Lean practices.
• Ensure optimum utilization of workmen in the plant.

Experience

Minimum 8 to 10 Years of experience in Specialty chemicals, Paint or Construction Chemicals industry.

Competencies Required
