Experience: 3–5 years. Department: Business Development. Type: Full-Time + Incentives.
THE ROLE
We’re hiring two Business Development Managers to drive revenue growth for TEC Spartans – India’s largest campus execution network spanning 1,000+ student ambassadors across 500+ colleges in 30 cities. You will own end-to-end client acquisition and revenue for brands targeting GenZ college students. This is a hunter role: you bring the pipeline, close the deals, and grow the accounts. If you’ve sold campus activations, college engagement programs, or youth marketing campaigns at an agency and have a fat rolodex of brand contacts – we want to talk.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
- New business development: identify, pitch, and close brand deals for campus activations, college programs, experiential events, and youth-targeted campaigns
- Build and present campaign proposals, cost estimates, scope documents, and post-campaign reports to brand and agency decision-makers
- Own revenue targets with a clear incentive structure tied to quarterly and annual performance
- Develop category-specific go-to-market strategies for FMCG, Fintech, Mobile/Consumer Electronics, Automobile, QSR, and adjacent verticals
- Manage key client relationships from first pitch through renewal — upsell, cross-sell, and expand wallet share
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations & Client Servicing) to build integrated, multi-touchpoint proposals
- Track competitive landscape and proactively bring market intelligence to leadership
REQUIREMENTS
- 3–5 years in business development or sales at a marketing agency, experiential agency, media agency, or youth/campus marketing firm
- Ability to structure and close campaigns typically ranging from ₹10L–₹50L+, with opportunities to expand these into multi-city or annual campus engagement programs
- Deep experience in at least 2–3 of these categories: FMCG, Fintech, Mobile Brands (smartphones/consumer electronics), Automobiles, QSRs, EdTech, or BFSI
- Proven ability to build business proposals, campaign decks, cost sheets, and scope-of-work documents from scratch
- Strong existing client connects — you must bring relationships with brand managers, CMOs, or agency leads at relevant companies
- Must present 2–3 success case studies demonstrating campaign ROI, scale, and client retention during the interview process
- Understanding of college student behaviour, campus culture, and GenZ engagement strategies
- Excellent communication: you can walk into a boardroom, present confidently, and negotiate terms without handholding
NICE TO HAVE
- Esports or gaming brand sales experience
- Prior work at agencies like Dentsu, GroupM, Madison, Wunderman Thompson, or similar
- P&L ownership in a previous role
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of brands targeting Gen Z audiences across FMCG, BFSI, lifestyle, automobile and consumer technology categories
- Close high-value campus and youth marketing campaigns by leveraging TEC Spartans’ ambassador network, gaming ecosystem and activation capabilities
- Establish repeatable campus engagement formats that can be scaled across multiple colleges and cities
- Convert initial campaigns into long-term client relationships through renewals, upsells and cross-category opportunities
COMPENSATION
Competitive fixed salary + aggressive incentive structure. Incentives are tied to quarterly revenue targets with graduated multipliers — the harder you sell, the more you earn.
