This role is highly travel-driven, client-facing, and field-intensive, requiring the ability to independently build relationships, develop business opportunities, and close projects across government and private sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • MBA (Marketing/Business) is an added advantage.
  • Retired PWD/Government officers with mobility domain knowledge encouraged.
  • Experience in Govt liaisoning and sales in transportation sector preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue opportunities in Govt and private mobility/transport consulting.
  • Build a regional network of officials, consultants, and decision-makers.
  • Meet clients regularly and present solutions professionally.
  • Maintain strong rapport with existing clients and ensure repeat business.
  • Monitor tenders and shortlist opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Ops/Tech/Finance to prepare proposals.
  • Understand BOQs, eligibility criteria, scope, and pricing.
  • Ensure zero missed deadlines for submissions.
  • Travel 15–20 days per month minimum.
  • Conduct on-ground visits, site meetings, and tender follow-ups.
  • Visit government offices and consultant offices.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and industry events.
  • Understand client pain points and align DataCorp’s solutions.
  • Handle pushbacks and negotiate terms.
  • Ensure timely contract signing and onboarding.
  • Maintain CRM (Zoho) including leads, opportunities, pipeline, closures.
  • Submit weekly/monthly sales reports and track performance in PowerBI dashboards.
  • Maintain market intelligence: competitor rates, emerging projects, pricing trends.

Business Development Manager

Traffic Data Analytics, Transport Planning, Road Safety, Traffic Enforcement, and AI-driven Mobility Services across India, UK, USA, EU, Africa, and the Middle East.

Role Overview

We are seeking Business Development Managers for East and North-East. This role is highly travel-driven, client-facing, and field-intensive, requiring the ability to independently build relationships,develop business opportunities, and close projects across government and private sectors.

You will represent DataCorp as the regional face of Sales. Strong communication, on-ground

engagement, government liaising, and tender understanding are essential.

Key Responsibilities
A. Business Development & Relationship Building

Identify and pursue business opportunities in Govt (PWD, ULBs, Traffic Police, Transport Dept.),and private mobility/transport consulting companies.

Build a strong regional network of officials, consultants, and decision-makers.

Meet clients regularly (urban district level) and present solutions professionally.

Maintain strong rapport with existing clients and ensure repeat business.

B. Tendering, Proposals & Costing

Monitor daily tenders (Tender Tiger, eProc, GeM, Other manual) and shortlist opportunities.

Coordinate with internal teams (Ops/Tech/Finance) to prepare accurate proposals.

Understand BOQs, eligibility criteria, scope definitions, and competitor pricing.

Ensure zero missed deadlines for submissions.

C. Travel & Field Execution

Travel is a primary KRA (15–20 days per month minimum).

Conduct on-ground visits, site meetings, field inspections, and tender follow-ups.

Visit PWD offices, traffic offices, consultant offices, and transport departments.

Attend pre-bid meetings, project briefings, and industry events.

D. Client Engagement & Negotiation

Understand client pain points and align DataCorp’s solutions accordingly.

Handle pushbacks professionally and negotiate commercial terms.

Ensure timely contract signing and onboarding of new clients.

E. Sales Reporting & CRM

Maintain complete discipline in CRM (Zoho): leads, opportunities, pipeline, closures.

Submit weekly/monthly sales reports and track performance vs targets in PowerBI Dashboards.

Maintain market intelligence: competitor rates, emerging projects, pricing trends.

Skills & Competencies Required

Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

Ability to interact confidently with government officials at all levels.

Strong understanding of Indian transportation market preferred.

Familiarity with traffic studies, transport planning, and enforcement (or willingness to learn).

High ownership and independent working style.

Ability to handle pushback, negotiate, and manage scope changes.

Strong reporting discipline.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.

MBA (Marketing/Business) is an added advantage.

Retired PWD/Government officers with strong mobility domain knowledge are also encouraged.

Experience Required

3–10 years in Business Development / Sales / Govt liaisoning

Experience in transportation sector preferred

Proven track record in meeting sales targets

Comfortable with extensive travel

Other Requirements

Ethical conduct and strong professional integrity.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler driving license preferred.
