Job summary

Qualifications

• Design and develop BIW welding, assembly, and checking fixtures using CATIA V5 per customer standards.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed fixture designs for manufacturing readiness.
• Develop robust fixture concepts including clamping, locating, and unit design.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between manufacturing, quality and project teams for validation.
• Support fixture assembly trials and engineering changes.
• Maintain BOMs, design documentation and project data.
• Deliver designs within project timelines and customer requirements.
• Integrate designs into downstream processes.

Work Design

Experience: 3-6 Years

The position is responsible for designing and developing BIW welding, assembly, and checking fixtures using CATIA V5 as per customer standards.
It ensures accurate creation of 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed fixture designs for manufacturing readiness.
The role focuses on developing robust fixture concepts including clamping, locating, and unit design.
It aims to improve design efficiency through automation using CATIA VBA macros and PowerCopy templates.
The position involves performing feasibility studies and tolerance analysis to ensure design quality.
It acts as a coordination point between manufacturing, quality, and project teams for validation.
The role supports fixture assembly trials and manages engineering changes effectively.
It ensures proper maintenance of BOMs, design documentation, and project data.
The position is responsible for delivering designs within project timelines and customer requirements.
It also ensures proper documentation and integration of designs into downstream processes.

• Hands-on experience in:
  1. CATIA
  2. CATIA VBA Macro development
  3. PowerCopy creation and usage

• Knowledge of:
  1. Weldin Fixtures
  2. Locating and clamping Principles
  3. GD&T and Engineering drawings
  4. Automotive Manufacturing Processes

• Basic understanding of design automation concepts.
  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  Good communication and teamwork abilities
  Good knowledge in quality assurance of BIW fixture & checking manufacturing drawings
