Job description

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients.

Salary range: Rs 600,000 - Rs 1,200,000 (INR 6-12 LPA). Minimum experience: 5 years. Location: Bengaluru. Position type: full-time.

Key Responsibilities

Collections Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement effective strategies to improve collection efficiency and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
• Design tailored collection approaches for different customer segments, including new clients, high-risk accounts, and strategic partners.
• Deliver on collection targets and recovery goals set by the management team.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance collection processes to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and timely payments.
• Leverage technology solutions such as automated reminders, CRM tools, and workflow automation to streamline collection activities.
• Monitor and assess buyer credit risk and implement proactive measures to minimize defaults.

Team Leadership

• Lead, hire, train, and mentor a team of Collections Specialists.
• Set clear performance goals, provide regular coaching, and ensure consistent team productivity.
• Handle escalated or complex customer cases with professionalism, speed, and strategic judgment.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution

• Manage high-risk or complicated accounts and oversee end‑to‑end resolution to minimize overdue balances and potential write‑offs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams to resolve disputes, payment delays, and account‑related issues.
• Oversee legal recovery procedures when required, working closely with internal legal teams, courts, and external recovery agencies.
• Build and manage relationships with third‑party debt collection partners when needed.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

• Analyze collections data to track performance, identify trends, and forecast future collection needs.
• Prepare and present reports on recovery rates, write‑offs, credit risk, aging, and other financial metrics to senior leadership.
• Oversee daily cash application to ensure accurate and timely posting of payments.

Compliance & Audit Support

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Support audits by providing required documentation, data, and insights.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance or collections teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with financial systems (Workday Financials preferred).
• Track record of driving process improvements and managing organizational change.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
