Job summary

Quinstreet Software India is seeking hands-on Quality Engineers to support Quest v2 migration. The role focuses on backend testing for APIs, event-driven workflows, databases and performance with automation using Java, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, and CI/CD pipelines.

The candidate will validate Kafka-based processing, data reconciliation, and resilience tests, while supporting production deployments and incident investigations in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking hands-on Quality Engineers to support the modernization of Quest, a high-volume event and workflow-processing platform. This role focuses on backend quality engineering, including API, event-driven, database, integration, performance, and migration testing to ensure reliability and correctness throughout the Quest v2 migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies for backend services, APIs, event-driven workflows, and database interactions.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Java, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate Kafka-based event processing, retries, ordering, duplicate handling, replay, and idempotency scenarios.
• Perform migration validation between Quest v1 and Quest v2, including reconciliation and data consistency checks.
• Develop SQL-based data validation, integration, regression, performance, and resilience tests.
• Investigate defects using logs, metrics, traces, databases, and event streams.
• Support production deployments, release validation, and incident investigations.

Required Skills

• 47 years of Quality Engineering, SDET, or software testing experience.
• Strong Java programming and test automation skills.
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, and CI/CD integration.
• Strong SQL and database validation experience (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
• Experience testing backend services, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON, Git, and Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
• Knowledge of Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Testcontainers, WireMock, and contract testing.
• Experience with JMeter, Gatling, k6, or similar performance testing tools.
• Exposure to resilience, concurrency, recovery, and high-volume transaction systems.
