Job summary

Tata Technologies is seeking an Automation & Control Engineer to design, program, and commission PLC systems across Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi platforms. You will implement PLC logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and MES integration, ensuring robust data flow and safety compliance.

Key tasks include LV/ HV safety systems, multi-vendor drive configuration, and on-site commissioning. Strong knowledge of PROFINET, OPC UA, and factory automation standards is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering with hands-on PLC experience.
• Proficient in Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi PLCs and HMI/SCADA programming.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP).
• Experience with OPC UA configuration, data modeling, and MES integration.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, and commission PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
• Develop and test PLC logic using Ladder Logic and STL.
• Integrate SCADA/MES interfaces and ensure data acquisition strategies.
• Validate designs with FAT/SAT, perform troubleshooting of PLCs and drives.
• Coordinate with vendors and train plant operators.

Job Description: Automation & Control Engineer

What youll do

Key Responsibilities:

• PLC Programming: Siemens (TIA Portal), Rockwell (Studio 5000) - modular, scalable architecture
• Advanced Simulation: Factory I/O / Process Simulate / MATLAB-Simulink for logic validation
• Industrial Communication:
• Strong hands‑on in OPC UA (critical requirement) - data modeling, namespace design, secure communication
• Profinet / Ethernet-IP / Modbus TCP
• SCADA/MES Integration:
• Interface design between PLC SCADA MES
• Tag structuring, data acquisition strategies
• Control System Design:
• Functional Design Specifications (FDS), IO list validation, cause-effect matrices
• Battery Manufacturing Exposure (preferred):
• Cell assembly, formation, pack assembly lines
• Program, configure, and commission PLCs (Siemens, AllenBradley, Mitsubishi)
• Must have experience in Ladder Logic and STL coding
• Develop and maintain PLC logic in multi-vendor environments
• Implement and test Siemens Safety PLC systems

• Provide onsite technical support and coordinates with Line /OEM builder and training to plant operators
• Implement PLC-SCADA-MES integration architecture
• Work with industrial communication protocols: ProfNet, Profibus, TCP IP, Ether CAT, Ethernet/IP, CC-Link, IO-Link, OPC UA
• Configure OPC UA client/server and perform MES tag mapping
• Troubleshoot PLC programs, electrical faults, and automation failures
• Perform FAT, SAT, testing, simulation, and commissioning
• Handle MES integration, SQL/database connectivity, and performance issues
• Prepare documentation: FDS, IO List, Alarm List, Architecture diagrams, FAT/SAT reports
• Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders
• Provide onsite technical support and training to operators

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RS Logix, Compact Logix ,Control Logix, Mitsubishi GX Works,
• Hands-on experience in HMI Scada Programming. Experience on FactoryTalk Optix, Factory Talk overview
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (MODBUS, Profinet, Ether CAT, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA)
• Experience in MES integration and OPC UA configuration
• Strong troubleshooting skills in PLC, drives, and automation systems
• Experience in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities
• Bachelor's/Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering
• Having plc HMI, servo VFD Programming experience in the automobile industry, specifically in , BIW, Powertrain, Material Handling system , Battery Line, and conveyor systems.

Good to Have:

• Experience in Ignition advanced modules (Perspective, Reporting)
• Exposure to battery manufacturing / process industry
• Knowledge of robot programming or DCS systems
