Job summary

The Senior Resident - Radiation Oncology provides supervised clinical care to oncology patients undergoing radiation treatment. The involves patient assessment, treatment planning support, monitoring treatment response, managing treatment-related side effects, coordinating multidisciplinary care, maintaining clinical documentation, participating in academic activities, and supporting the delivery of safe and effective radiation oncology services.

• Assess oncology patients under consultant supervision.
• Obtain detailed medical histories and perform clinical examinations.
• Evaluate patients for radiation therapy and related treatment requirements.
• Participate in treatment planning discussions and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
• Monitor patient progress and response to radiation therapy.
• Identify and manage treatment-related side effects under supervision.
• Review laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic reports relevant to patient care.
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Coordinate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, technologists, and nursing staff.
• Provide follow-up care and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation.
• Assist with admission, referral, transfer, and discharge activities when required.
• Communicate treatment-related information to patients and caregivers.
• Participate in emergency management of oncology patients as appropriate.
• Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, teaching, and academic activities.
