Job summary

Apollo Tyres Manufacturing in Tirupati seeks a Welfare Officer/HR professional to manage manpower planning, employee relations, and compliance. The role involves handling flexi manpower, unions, disciplinary actions, and payroll support at the AP factory.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with AP factory rules, labour laws, audits, and SOP development. This position requires strong data analysis and engagement initiatives to ensure smooth production operations.

• Ability to plan, monitor, and improve HR processes

Responsibilities

• Ensure manpower availability as per plan via onboarding and skilling
• Engage flexi manpower and schemes (Apprentice/NAPS/Lead)
• Interact with shopfloor operatives/contract workers; manage unions & grievances
• Handle disciplinary cases and domestic enquiry process
• Work as welfare officer per AP factory rules 1950
• Ensure statutory compliance and labour law adherence
• Prepare and execute employee engagement calendars
• Capture data, analyze trends, and suggest corrective actions
• Support audits (ISO, IATF, Safety) and govt inspections
• Prepare SOPs & policies; knowledge of TQM
• Time office / HR helpdesk and payroll processing

Main Purpose of Job

To ensure the manpower availability (Blue Collar) as per plan, also to manage and promote positive employee relations to ensure smooth factory operations and production target achievement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure manpower availability as per the plan through timely onboarding and skilling
• Experience in engaging and handling flexi manpower and knowledge of various flexi manpower schemes like (Apprentice / NAPS / Lead..etc)
• Regular interaction with shopfloor operatives and contract workers and maintaining cordial relationships with internal and external stake holders ,capability of handling Unions & Grievances handling.
• Knowledge of handling disciplinary cases and domestic enquiry process execution
• Working experience as welfare officer or Should be a qualified welfare officer as per AP factory rules 1950
• Knowledge in labour laws and ensure compliance to the statutory requirement
• Responsible for preparation and execution of employee engagement and connect calendar/initiatives
• Thorough in data capturing, analysing trends, interpreting and suggesting corrective actions time to time
• Experience in handling the audits like ISO, IATF, Safety and other customer audits
• Experience in handling Govt. authority inspections like Factories and labour departments
• Knowledge in preparing the SOPs & Policies and execution of the same Knowledge about TQM practices
• Responsible for Time office / HR Helpdesk and Processing of Payrol
