Job summary

Roots Group of Companies in Coimbatore region seeks Subject Matter Experts for Next Gen Assembly processes and facility planning. The role covers tool selection, MES integration, and hands-on experience with manipulators, rail systems, and assembly-line equipment.

Strong PLC/HMI/SCADA capability and CAD drafting are required. Candidate will design control schemes, implement EOL testing, and support system commissioning across projects, with emphasis on safety and reliability in industrial

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical control system design and integration with MES.
• Hands-on assembly line tools selection and integration with automation systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA development.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN for schematics and BOMs.
• Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and system commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics and control panels with BOMs.
• Develop PLC logic and HMIs, optimize SCADA graphics.
• Configure industrial networks to integrate PLCs, robots and MES.
• Oversee commissioning, wiring checks and start-up testing.
• Utilize AutoCAD Electrical, 3D SolidWorks for software-enabled hardware designs.

SUMMARY

Subject Matter Experts on the Next Gen Assembly Process and related facility planning.

Required Expertise in Assembly Tools selection (Impact, Pulse, Shut off, System wrenches) Manual, Electrical, cordless, Nut runners and related integration with MES

Hands on Experience on Assembly Line side part handling like Manipulators, Air Balancer, X-Y rails systems, Zib cranes etc.

Assembly line covers systems and related subject knowledge

Proficient in Experience on SPM design and developments.

Required Expertise in Electrical Control Systems related to Software and Hardware.

Skilled in implementation of EOL testing facilities and MES systems in assembly line.

Control System Design & Schematics:

Design electrical schematics, control panel layouts, single-line diagrams, and bill of materials (BOM) using software like AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. Select sensors, relays, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and safety components.

PLC & HMI Programming:

Write, test, and optimize PLC logic using languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams) on major platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, or Mitsubishi. Develop Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and SCADA graphics.

System Integration & Industrial Networking:

Configure industrial communications protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, Device Net) to integrate PLCs with robots, VFDs, instrumentation, and plant-wide MES systems.

Commissioning & Testing:

Perform Debug code, wire check panels, and fine-tune connectivity loops during equipment startup.
