Qualifications

• Awareness of endpoint security principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 technical support to end users for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, email, VPN, and connectivity issues.
• Support users onsite and remotely through ticketing systems.
• Escalate unresolved issues to system, network, or application teams.
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade desktop/laptop systems, OSs, and standard enterprise apps.
• Perform OS imaging, upgrades, and troubleshooting; coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements.
• Create, modify, and disable user accounts during onboarding/offboarding; manage permissions and access rights.
• Ensure security compliance with IT policies; monitor antivirus/endpoint protection.

About the Role

We are looking for an Associate Desktop Administrator (Fresher) to provide reliable end-user support and assist in managing desktop infrastructure, user accounts, endpoint security, and IT assets. This role focuses on supporting Windows and macOS systems, ensuring security compliance, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with network and server teams to resolve issues efficiently. It is an ideal entry-level role for candidates starting their careers in IT operations and support.

Key Responsibilities

End-User Support

• Provide L1/L2 technical support to end users for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, email, VPN, and connectivity issues
• Support users both onsite and remotely through ticketing systems
• Escalate unresolved issues to system, network, or application teams

Hardware & Software Management

oInstall, configure, maintain, and upgrade:

• Desktop and laptop systems
• Operating Systems (Windows / macOS)
• Standard enterprise applications

oPerform OS imaging, upgrades, and troubleshooting

oCoordinate with vendors for hardware replacements and warranty support

User Account & Access Management

oCreate, modify, and disable user accounts during onboarding/offboarding

oManage permissions, group memberships, and access rights

oAssist with Active Directory / Azure AD user administration

oEnsure access follows company security policies

Security & Compliance

• Install and monitor antivirus / endpoint protection software
• Apply OS and application updates and security patches
• Monitor endpoint security posture and report suspicious activity
• Ensure compliance with IT security and data protection policies
• Assist with data backup and recovery for end-user systems

System Maintenance & Reliability

• Perform preventive maintenance on desktops and laptops
• Monitor system performance and disk utilization
• Assist in endpoint-level disaster recovery preparedness

Physical Networking & Infrastructure Support

oAssist with basic physical networking tasks:

• LAN cabling and patch panel connections
• Desk and workstation network setup

o Support UPS maintenance, power checks, and basic hardware diagnostics

o Coordinate with network teams for connectivity issues

Documentation

oCreate and update:

• Technical guides
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• User onboarding/offboarding checklists

o Maintain IT asset and inventory records

o Work closely with network, system, and security teams on complex issues

o Support IT initiatives such as rollouts, upgrades, and migrations

o Participate in project implementations as a support engineer

oGuide and train users on:

• New tools and applications
• Security awareness and safe computing practices

o Provide clear, user-friendly instructions and support

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Skills
