We are seeking a motivated Associate System Administrator (Fresher) to assist in managing and supporting on-premises, virtualized, and cloud infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments. This role provides hands-on exposure to server administration, virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), security, backups, monitoring, and automation, working closely with senior system and cloud engineers.
- Assist in installing, configuring, and updating operating systems, applications, and server hardware
- Support server setup and maintenance in Windows Server and Linux environments
- Assist in provisioning cloud-based compute resources (VMs/Instances) under supervision
- Perform basic system health checks and validations
- Assist in managing cloud environments (AWS / Azure – basics)
- Support provisioning and management of:
- Basic networking components (VPC/VNet, subnets, security groups)
- Assist in monitoring cloud resources for availability and cost usage
- Support hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud connectivity)
- Assist in managing user accounts, groups, and permissions
- Support Active Directory administration and Group Policy
- Assist with basic IAM concepts in cloud platforms
- Follow access control and security best practices
- Apply OS and application security patches under guidance
- Assist in monitoring systems and cloud resources for security alerts
- Support implementation of basic security controls (firewalls, access rules)
- Follow security and compliance guidelines
- Assist in configuring and monitoring on-prem and cloud backups
- Verify backup job success and report failures
- Participate in restore testing and disaster recovery drills
- Ensure backup and recovery procedures are documented and followed
- Assist in managing virtual machines using VMware or Hyper-V
- Support VM provisioning, snapshots, and basic troubleshooting
- Learn infrastructure optimization and capacity planning basics
- Monitor system and cloud resource health (CPU, memory, disk, logs)
- Assist with routine system and cloud maintenance tasks
- Identify and upscale alerts or anomalies to senior engineers
- Provide L1/L2 support for server and cloud-related issues
- Troubleshoot basic OS, application, connectivity, and performance problems
- Work with senior engineers during incident resolution
- Maintain documentation for servers, cloud resources, and SOPs
- Assist in creating and updating operational runbooks
- Learn and support basic automation and scripting (Shell / PowerShell)
- Assist in repetitive task automation under supervision
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
- Basic understanding of Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Familiarity with system services, logs, and file systems
- Basic understanding of AWS or Azure
- Awareness of:
- Virtual machines
- Willingness to learn cloud-native services
- Basic exposure to VMware or Hyper-V
- Understanding of virtual machines and resource allocation
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Awareness of firewalls and VPNs
- Ability to troubleshoot basic connectivity issues
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and documentation abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Attention to detail and operational discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Cloud fundamentals certifications (AWS / Azure – preferred, not mandatory)
- Hands-on exposure to on-prem, virtualized, and cloud infrastructure
- Structured mentoring and training in Windows, Linux, and Cloud
- Real-world experience with production systems
