Job summary

mPokket Financial Services Private Limited is seeking an Associate - System Administrator in Kolkata. The role involves assembling and installing client desktops and laptops and ensuring devices stay secure with routine upgrades and security resolutions.

You will support IT systems to help the business meet goals, maintaining high uptime and assisting end-users with hardware security and problem-solving. 2–4 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as Desktop Support Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on with Windows, Linux/Ubuntu and MacOS.
• Networking devices like routers, switches, firewalls; server hardware.
• Knowledge of ACL, OSI model and IP subnetting.
• Routing concepts, security practices and antivirus.
• Remote troubleshooting and clear ticket-based documentation.
• Server hardware and RAID/storage concepts.
• Excel or Google Sheets for asset and inventory management.
• Device security and prompt problem-solving with customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install desktops and laptops for end users.
• Maintain systems with upgrades and security resolutions.
• Provide IT support to ensure high uptime of networks and devices.
• Manage ticketing portal and inventory of IT assets.
• Document steps and communicate clearly to users.

Job description

An Associate - System Administration job requires the assembly and installation of desktops, and laptops, and maintaining allsystems up to date with upgrades and security resolutions. The standard routine is that the softwaresection of an organization designs an application that will make the regular operations of an organizationeasier and much faster with the help of a support engineer. Another step is that businesses canpurchase an authorized enterprise version of the software and allow the user to work on it based on therequirements.

When it comes to roles and responsibilities, the Support Technician’s primary aim is to provide supportto an organization’s IT systems to help them meet their business goals. They ensure that all computersand networks operate efficiently with high uptime. As an Associate - System Administrator , you will assemble and installclient desktop computers and assist the end-user in securing their hardware.

We need you to have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities & required skills:

• Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer orsimilar role, System Administrator.
• Hands on experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux/Ubuntu & MacOS).
• Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers andscanners.
• Hands on experience on working with network devices (router, switch, firewall, UTM, ServerHardware).
• Well versed with ACL and OSI model and its working. Along with IP sub/super netting.
• Clear concept of dynamic and static routing.
• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
• Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions with documentationticket maintenance.
• Knowledge of Hardware and Software for the Server.
• Raid and Types and application, Storage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ensure all desktops and laptops are secure from external attacks.
• Maintain inventory of IT assets, software’s, software licenses (Inventory management, assetmaintenance, record keeping, asset allocation).
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• Customer centric attitude, Managing the Ticketing portal.

Qualification:

• BCA, B.Tech/BE (Any specification).

Certifications (Preferred):

• CompTIA N+ Certification or similar.
• CompTIA A+ Certification or Similar.
