Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP in Bengaluru is seeking a Database Engineer to develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications under the guidance of senior technical staff.   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Database Engineering.
  • Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including SELECT statements, joins, data modification, aggregations, keys, relationships, constraints, and normalization.
  • Foundational programming experience in one or more languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a comparable language.
  • Familiarity with software development concepts including source control, debugging, testing, APIs, and object‑oriented programming.
  • Preferred: experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or another relational database platform and related database‑management tools.
  • Preferred: exposure to stored procedures, query optimization, REST APIs, ETL/data integration, reporting or business‑intelligence tools, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Internship, academic, personal‑project, or professional experience developing database‑backed applications is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technologies, applications, and business processes.
