Job summary

Visaka Industries Limited in Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu, is seeking a Mechanical Junior Engineer / Assistant Engineer to support maintenance and smooth operation of a fiber cement boards manufacturing unit.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 years of manufacturing plant experience, preferably in building materials. You will handle preventive and breakdown maintenance, safety, and equipment history logs.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing plant experience preferred.
• Hands-on exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, boilers, and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (power packs, cylinders, valves).
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems (compressors, air lines, FRLs, actuators).
• Assist in operation and maintenance of industrial boilers and monitoring safety parameters.
• Oversee conveyors, elevators, rollers, belts, and material handling equipment.
• Support installation, erection, and commissioning of new machinery and utilities.
• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and equipment history cards.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Mechanical Junior Engineer / Assistant Engineer with hands-on experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, boilers, material handling systems, and plant machinery to support maintenance and smooth operation of a Fiber Cement Boards manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Mechanical Maintenance & Operations
• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
• Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (hydraulic power packs, cylinders, valves).
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems (compressors, air lines, FRLs, actuators).
• Assist in operation and maintenance of industrial boilers (as per statutory norms).
• Monitor boiler parameters, steam lines, safety valves, and accessories.
• Maintain conveyors, elevators, rollers, and belts used in board manufacturing.
• Oversee maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring breakdowns.
• Support installation, erection, and commissioning of new machinery and utilities.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures, statutory norms, and PPE usage.
• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and equipment history cards.
• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering Experience

2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in:

• Fiber Cement Boards / Cement / Building Materials / Process Industry

Hands-on exposure to:

• Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Industrial Boilers, Forklifts & Material Handling Equipment, Conveyors & Elevators
