Job summary

Confidential in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation of plant utilities and production equipment. You will perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, safeguarding maximum machine uptime and process efficiency.

Responsibilities include maintaining air compressors, DG sets, EOT cranes, welding and grinding machines, and cutting equipment.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Hands-on maintenance of industrial machinery (mechanical & electrical).
• Experience with air compressors, DG sets, EOT cranes, welding & grinding machines.

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production equipment and utilities.
• Maintain plant utilities such as Air Compressors and DG sets.
• Perform maintenance of EOT Cranes, welding machines, grinding machines and other shop-floor equipment.
• Handle gas cutting, laser cutting, and plasma cutting machines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with production to ensure equipment availability and uninterrupted production.
• Inspect machines regularly and implement preventive maintenance schedules.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth functioning of plant utilities and production equipment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring maximum machine uptime and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production equipment and utilities.
• Maintain plant utilities such as Air Compressors and Diesel Generator (DG) sets.
• Perform maintenance of EOT Cranes, welding machines, grinding machines, and other shop-floor equipment.
• Handle and maintain gas cutting, laser cutting, and plasma cutting machines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize machine downtime.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure equipment availability and uninterrupted production.
• Inspect machines regularly and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and equipment history.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S practices, and company maintenance procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability and productivity.
• Knowledge of welding robot operation and maintenance will be an added advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 2-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Experience in maintaining air compressors, DG sets, EOT cranes, welding machines, and grinding machines.
• Practical knowledge of gas cutting, laser cutting, and plasma cutting equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, motors, sensors, control panels, and PLCs.
• Ability to analyze equipment failures and perform effective troubleshooting.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on the manufacturing shop floor and in rotational shifts, if required.
• Knowledge of welding robot maintenance will be considered an added advantage.
