Job summary

Kineco in Goa, India, seeks a procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing for railway manufacturing. You will source and onboard suppliers for sheet metal, machined parts, electrical items, and assemblies, ensuring quality, cost, delivery, and technical capability.

Responsibilities include RFQ issuance, quotation analysis, price/term negotiations, and driving cost reduction via VA/VE and should-cost analyses.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement and strategic sourcing for railway manufacturing.
• Ability to source and onboard suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capability.
• Experience issuing RFQs, evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, and finalizing suppliers.
• Proven ability to drive cost reduction, value engineering (VA/VE), and should-cost analysis.
• Coordinate with Engineering, NPD, Quality, Production and Projects teams for new requirements.
• Ensure timely availability of materials per BOM and production schedules.
• Monitor supplier OTD, quality, lead time, and capacity; take corrective actions.
• Develop alternate/local suppliers to reduce lead time and supply risks.
• Maintain procurement data, orders, and supplier docs; use ERP/SAP.

Job description

• Manage procurement and strategic sourcing of materials, components and services required for railway manufacturing.
• Source and develop suppliers for sheet metal, fabricated parts, machined components, electrical/electronic items, railway interiors, assemblies, hardware, fasteners and bought-out components.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, delivery and technical capability.
• Float RFQs, analyze quotations, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and finalize suppliers.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, VA/VE and should-cost analysis initiatives.
• Coordinate with Engineering, NPD, Quality, Production and Project teams for new product and project requirements.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per BOM, production plan and project schedules.
• Monitor supplier OTD, quality, lead time and capacity and take corrective actions for supply issues.
• Develop alternate/local suppliers to reduce lead time, cost and supply-chain risks.
• Manage supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, payment terms and delivery commitments.
• Support new product development (NPD) through supplier identification, RFQ, tooling development, samples and part approval.
• Maintain procurement data, supplier records, RFQs, comparative statements, purchase orders and related SCM documentation.
• Work with Quality for supplier audits, incoming quality issues, rejection reduction and corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate with planning teams to avoid line stoppage, excess inventory and material shortages.
• Use ERP/SAP systems for procurement, purchase orders, material tracking and supplier management.
