Job description

Purpose of the Role:

The role focuses on optimizing vendor management and supply chain efficiency, ensuring compliance and timely procurement while coordinating cross-functional activities and financial processes.

Technical Skills Required

• 1. Knowledge Of Mechanical Item - outsource as well as BOP parts i.e. bearing, fasteners, structural steel and Mechanical fabricated, machining parts.
• 2. RM - Understanding various raw materials (RM) such as Stainless Steel (SS), Mild Steel (MS), Aluminium, and their various grades is essential.
• 3. Product And Component Knowledge.
• 4. Basic commercial knowledge pertaining to customer invoicing, GST, etc.
• 5. SAP B1 Module and Expert in Excel.
• 6. Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and import clearance.
• 7. Knowledge of vendor of vendor base and basic technical specifications of control items to be procured.
• 8. Reading and understanding mechanical CAD, DXF Drawings
• 9. Analysing and reading mechanical drawings.

Job Responsibilities

• Source and purchase mechanical components, materials, and equipment needed for production or projects.
• Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms.
• Analyse purchase requirements and determine appropriate sourcing strategies to get the amteiral available in the planned period to ensure the timely production.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and ensure procurement meets design specifications
• Maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate discounts, delivery terms, and resolve issues related to defective or delayed shipments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations related to procurement
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., logistics, quality control) to ensure smooth integration of materials into production processes.
• Manage purchase orders and track order status, ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines.
• Oversee commercial tasks, including invoicing, GST, and routine documentation such as PO generation and vendor payments.
• Maintain SAP hygiene, manage process controls, and enhance cross-functional processes.
• Act as the central point of contact (SPOC) for vendors, coordinating across Quality, SCM, Projects, Finance, and Production
• Achieve year-on-year productivity improvements for the Mechanical categories.
• Liquidate old or non-moving inventory and manage ARC closures while making strategic vendor decisions.
• Vendor management, New Vendor Developments, material availability, reconciliation of the vendors, Payment, ledger and PO hygiene.
