Job summary

Mahindra Group seeks a procurement and supply chain professional to manage material procurement, scheduling, and supplier coordination in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will ensure material availability, track procurement in SAP, and collaborate with PPC, stores, logistics, QA, finance, and engineering.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a BE in mechanical/production/automobile, with strong analytical and MIS skills to drive cost efficiency and working capital

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Production / Automobile.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in procurement or supply chain roles.
  • Experience with SAP and core procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement Operations: procure production direct materials and release monthly schedules.
  • Material Availability Management: ensure uninterrupted material availability and on-time dispatches.
  • Supplier Coordination: maintain relationships and monitor performance.
  • Inventory Optimization: balance inventory with production needs and reduce excess stock.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: collaborate with PPC, Stores, Logistics, QA, Finance, Engineering.
  • SAP / ERP Operations: maintain procurement transactions in SAP and generate reports.
  • Risk Management: identify and escalate supply risks and support contingency planning.

Job description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Procurement Operations

  • Procure production direct materials as per business requirements.
  • Release monthly schedule to supplier as per monthly requirement.
  • Follow up of parts as per schedules .
  • Ensure timely amendments to PO quantities, schedules.

2. Material Availability Management

  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production requirements.
  • Follow up with suppliers for on-time dispatches and deliveries.
  • Manage shortages and critical part escalations.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Stores teams to avoid line stoppages.

3. Supplier Coordination

  • Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance.
  • Conduct regular follow-up reviews for pending supplies and commitments.
  • Support resolution of supply-related issues.

4. Inventory Optimization

  • Balance inventory levels with production requirements.
  • Avoid excess inventory and stock-out situations.
  • Monitor slow-moving and excess inventory.
  • Support inventory reduction and working capital improvement initiatives.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with:

  • Production Planning (PPC)
  • Stores
  • Logistics
  • Quality Assurance
  • Finance
  • Engineering

to ensure smooth material flow and timely issue resolution.

6. SAP / ERP Operations

  • Maintain procurement transactions accurately in SAP.
  • Track material requirements and procurement status.
  • Generate and analyze procurement reports.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs and dashboards.

7. Risk Management

  • Identify supply risks proactively.
  • Escalate risks that may impact production schedules.

Support contingency planning during supply disruptions.
