Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai seeks an experienced IT procurement professional to handle end-to-end buying for data center needs, including hardware, software, bandwidth and non-IT items. You will compare vendor proposals, secure approvals, and generate PO terms for timely, compliant delivery.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and drive cost optimizations, contracts, and lifecycle management while coordinating with internal teams and government RFPs as needed.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or equivalent with Computer Science or Electronics & Communication or Electrical Engineering.
• MBA-Operations/Supply Chain will be added advantage.
• 3-6 years procurement experience in IT Hardware / Software.
• Procured IT hardware like routers, switches, servers, storage, bandwidth and related software.
• Knowledge of software licensing models and contract terms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Inco-Terms.
• Excellent communication skills, target oriented & team player.

Responsibilities

• Cost effective procurement of IT hardware, software and non-IT items for Data Center operations.
• Prepare detailed commercial comparisons of vendor proposals considering cost, quality, delivery timelines and terms.
• Obtain approvals from relevant authorities per approval flows.
• Prepare Purchase Orders with detailed Terms & Conditions.
• Formulate SLAs for supplies and services required for Data Center.
• Drive process improvements and vendor onboarding to maintain competitiveness.
• Manage PO/contract lifecycle and vendor performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders; support Pre-sales for RFPs including Govt bids.
• Maintain records/MIS of purchases, contracts/NDAs, and vendor communications.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

(no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)

• 3-6 years procurement experience in IT Hardware / Software.
• Must have procured IT Hardwares like Routers / Firewall / Switches / Servers / Storage / Back-up etc., IT Softwares, Bandwidth, Non-IT items, Services etc.
• Must be aware of Software licensing model, other licensing models of Support & Services.
• Must have knowledge of different contract terms & conditions.
• Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite (esp PPT, Intermediate to Advance excel proficiency).
• Must be aware of Inco-Terms.
• Should be excellent in communication skills.
• Should be target oriented and achieve goals.
