The role covers employee lifecycle, performance development, ER matters, and collaboration with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and EHS to drive manufacturing excellence.
Effective manning, deployment, absenteeism control, productivity, manpower planning and building shopfloor capability.
Ability to handle discipline, grievances, absenteeism, misconduct, basic Industrial Relations and union-related situations with maturity.
Demonstrates visible safety leadership, understands safety culture, incident reporting, behavioural safety and treats safety as a non-negotiable value.
Strong employee connect, informal networking, listening skills and ability to sense emerging people issues before they become problems.
Comfortable handling the complete employee lifecyclefrom joining, induction and deployment to performance, development, engagement, transfers and separation.
Understands business priorities and converts them into people interventions; works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, EHS and other functions.
Working knowledge of PMS, competency development, IDPs, L&D, succession and shopfloor skill development.
Ability to handle difficult conversations, grievances, interpersonal conflicts and employee concerns objectively and fairly. This is particularly important for a conventional manufacturing environment.
Takes responsibility for closure of HR actions, works independently and does not require continuous follow-up from the HR Head/HRBP.
Understands the people dimension of WCM/Lean/Operational Excellence—productivity, quality, standardisation, continuous improvement and capability building.
Demonstrates maturity in handling sensitive employee information, disciplinary matters, grievances and management decisions.
