Job summary

CK Birla Hospital- RBH is seeking a diligent Infection Control & Housekeeping Supervisor to enforce disinfection protocols across high-risk areas. You will manage rosters, oversee janitorial staff, and ensure proper waste segregation and chemical safety in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Healthcare or hotel background preferred.
• Experience in infection control and facility sanitation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Infection Control: Enforces disinfection protocols in OTs, ICUs, and Isolation wards.
• Staff Oversight: Manages daily rosters, cleaning zones, and monitors janitorial staff.
• Waste Management: Segregates and disposes Bio-medical waste vs general waste.
• Chemical Safety: Oversees proper dilution and use of hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning chemicals.
• Inventory Control: Tracks orders for cleaning supplies, PPE, and linens.
• Linen Management: Coordinates collection of soiled linens and distribution of sterilized sets.
• Compliance & Audits: Conducts inspections and maintains cleaning checklists for accreditation (JCI/NABH).
• Training: Educates staff on terminal cleaning and bloodborne pathogen safety.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensures floor scrubbers, vacuums, and UV-C sterilizers are in good working order.
• Patient Experience: Responds to patient or nursing requests regarding room cleanliness and environment issues.

Role & responsibilities:

• Infection Control: Enforces strict disinfection protocols in high-risk areas like OTs, ICUs, and Isolation wards.
• Staff Oversight: Manages daily rosters, assigns cleaning zones, and monitors the performance of janitorial staff.
• Waste Management: Ensures proper segregation and disposal of Bio-medical waste (color-coded bins) versus general waste.
• Chemical Safety: Oversees the correct dilution and usage of hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning chemicals.
• Inventory Control: Tracks and orders cleaning supplies, PPE (masks, gloves, gowns), and linens to prevent shortages.
• Linen Management: Coordinates the collection of soiled linens and the distribution of sterilized sets to patient rooms.
• Compliance & Audits: Conducts regular inspections and maintains "cleaning checklists" to meet hospital accreditation standards (e.g., JCI or NABH).
• Training: Educates staff on "terminal cleaning" (cleaning after a patient is discharged) and bloodborne pathogen safety.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensures floor scrubbers, vacuums, and UV-C sterilization tools are in good working order.
• Patient Experience: Responds to patient or nursing requests regarding room cleanliness and environment issues.
