Shanthi Gears Limited in India is seeking a design engineer to develop customer-built gearboxes by interpreting customer needs and coordinating with marketing and costing teams. The role involves creating designs, plans, and inputs for custom builds from product requirements and existing inventory.

The candidate will review drawings and BOMs, approve materials in the ERP, and train vendors to ensure raw materials meet specifications for manufacturing.

Qualificações

• Experience in 3D modelling using SolidWorks.
• Experience in gear transmission design.

Responsabilidades

• Develop the designs, plans and inputs for custom built by understanding customer/product requirements.
• Coordinate with the marketing and costing departments on charges that have been requested by customer/change in specification/materials/processes for accurate estimation and pricing.
• Review and approve the required drawings by the draughtsman and other specific manufacturing requirements based on approved specifications.
• Review and approve the bill of materials prepared by the designer in the ERP system for procurement planning and materials management.
• Train vendors on materials, technology, improvements, and changes to ensure materials align with product specifications.

(3d Role & responsibilities

Responsible for developing design by understanding customer needs and interacting with the marketing and costing teams, for customer built gearboxes

Develop the designs, plans and related inputs for custom built by understanding customer/product requirements, utilizing existing inventory of components

Co-ordinate with the marketing & costing departments on charges that have been requested by customer/change in specification/materials/processes so that the product can be appropriately estimated & priced

Review and approve the necessary drawings developed by the draughtsman, along with the any other specific requirements for manufacturing the product, based on the approved specification with the manufacturing team

Review and approve the bill of material prepared by the designer, by identifying necessary raw materials, on the ERP system for the management, planning and procurement of raw material by the planning, finance and purchase dept

Train/educate vendors on materials/technology/improvements/changes on a need basis so as to ensure that the raw materials are in line with product specification
