Talent Destination is seeking an Assistant Manager in Design & Engineering to oversee new product development and engineering processes in Uttarakhand, India. You will guide cross-functional teams, ensure product quality, and drive cost-effective design decisions.

The role requires a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in design/engineering, plus hands-on CNC programming and gear machinery expertise using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Qualificações

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years in design and engineering.
• Extensive CNC programming and CAM software experience.
• Hands-on gear manufacturing experience including hob and shaving cutter knowledge; familiar with hobbers, shapers and broaching.

Responsabilidades

• Lead NPD planning and execution with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct feasibility studies focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement process design strategies to optimize production, including cost and investment planning.
• Plan and procure tools and fixtures essential for manufacturing processes aligned with project requirements.
• Arrange and negotiate supplier quotations and maintain vendor relationships for competitive pricing.
• Validate and implement ECNs to improve product quality and compliance.
• Review and approve drawings ensuring adherence to quality standards before release.

The Assistant Manager in Design & Engineering plays a pivotal role in overseeing new product development (NPD) and engineering processes, ensuring that projects align with organizational goals and industry standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to drive efficiency, innovation, and quality within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead NPD planning and execution by collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and ensure timely project delivery.
• Conduct feasibility studies for design projects, focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement process design strategies to optimize production, including cost and investment planning.
• Plan and procure tools and fixtures essential for manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Arrange and negotiate quotations with suppliers, maintaining strong vendor relationships to achieve competitive pricing.
• Validate and implement Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) to improve product quality and compliance.
• Review and approve drawings, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements before release.

Requirements:

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a 10+ years of relevant experience in design and engineering.
• Extensive experience in CNC programming and proficiency in CAM software.
• Hands-on experience in gear manufacturing, including knowledge of hob and shaving cutter requirements.
• Familiarity with gear machines, including hobbing, shaving, shaper, and broaching.
• Strong mastery of design tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of vendor process troubleshooting and customer complaint resolution.
