Mahindra And Mahindra Limited is seeking an Assistant Manager for BIW responsibilities and key deliverables in Bengaluru. The role focuses on CAD design in CATIA V5, surface and assembly modelling, and rigorous DFMEA and risk analysis to ensure product quality and performance.

The position requires hands-on BIW design experience, sheet metal proficiency, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to meet weight distribution and packaging goals, with DMU analysis supporting decisions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Design engineer BIW assembly experience. Proficient in CATIA V5 assembly design and surface modelling.
• Knowledge of sheet metal parts and manufacturing methodologies for BIW.
• Experience with DFMEA, risk analysis, and product quality design reviews.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and ability to apply updates per client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design activities in CAD in CATIA V5.
• Surface modelling and assembly modelling.
• DFMEA and risk analysis; contribute to product quality reviews.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet performance and weight targets.
• Prepare vehicle and system-level packaging concepts and layouts with CFT.
• DMU analysis and report generation; resolve packaging and integration challenges.

Assistant Manager - BIW Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Key Work areas :

• Design activities in CAD in CATIA V5
• Surface modelling and assembly modelling
• DFMEA
• DFA/ DFM, Risk analysis and Product quality design reviews
• Validation tracking, DVPR signed off - Comp / System/Vehicle level
• Preparation of vehicle and system level packaging concepts, layouts by coordinating with CFT to meet the performance, weight distribution.
• DMU analysis, report generation and coordination between different subsystem owners to resolve packaging and integration challenges

Experience :

Hands on experience in Design engineer BIW Assembly Experience in BIW Sheet metal parts . Good CAD proficiency on CATIA V5 Assembly design Surface modelling (Generative Shape Design) Sheet metal design Part modelling Detailing Experience Having good knowledge towards sheet metal design concepts and manufacturing methodologies Understand design and apply updating according to client requirements for a product Maintain effective communication with supplier, customer and outside resources concerning technical issues. Knowledge in DMU Tools. Experience in PLM Software. Experience in Sheet metal Product Development assignments. Good GD&T application knowledge. Industry Preferred Qualifications BE or ME with mechanical/Automobile/Electrical with 4+ years of experience in BIW Engineering
