Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Bengaluru is seeking a BIW Design Engineer to drive CAD activities in CATIA V5, surface and assembly modelling, DFMEA, and packaging concept development. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet performance and weight targets.

Qualifications

• BE or ME in mechanical/automobile/electrical engineering with 4+ years BIW experience.
• Hands-on BIW design and assembly experience with CATIA V5.
• Good understanding of GD&T and sheet metal development.

Responsibilities

• Design activities in CAD in CATIA V5
• Surface modelling and assembly modelling
• DFMEA and risk analysis during design reviews
• DFM/ DFA and packaging concept development coordinating with CFT
• Validation tracking and DVPR sign-off at component/system/vehicle level
• Prepare vehicle and system level packaging concepts and layouts with cross-functional teams
• DMU analysis, report generation and coordinating subsystems for packaging/integration

Key Work areas

• a. Design activities in CAD in CATIA V5
• b. Surface modelling and assembly modelling
• c. DFMEA
• d. DFA/ DFM, Risk analysis and Product quality design reviews
• e. Validation tracking, DVPR signed off - Comp / System/Vehicle level
• f. Preparation of vehicle and system level packaging concepts, layouts by coordinating with CFT to meet the performance, weight distribution.
• g. DMU analysis, report generation and coordination between different subsystem owners to resolve packaging and integration challenges

Experience

• Hands on experience in Design engineer BIW Assembly
• Experience in BIW Sheet metal parts.
• Good CAD proficiency on CATIA V5
• Assembly design
• Detailing

Experience

• Having good knowledge towards sheet metal design concepts and manufacturing methodologies
• Understand design and apply updating according to client requirements for a product
• Maintain effective communication with supplier, customer and outside resources concerning technical issues.
• Knowledge in DMU Tools.
• Experience in PLM Software.
• Experience in Sheet metal Product Development assignments.
• Good GD&T application knowledge.
