Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) is seeking a design engineer adept in Catia V5/V6 to lead the development of sheetmetal/BIW components. The candidate will drive parts creation, ensure conformance to design rules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet evolving project requirements.

Responsibilities include hands-on design, GD&T application, 2D/3D drawing preparation, and a focus on improving efficiency of existing products in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Catia V5/V6 for design and development.
• Participation in at least one New Product Development project.
• Hands-on design and development of sheetmetal/BIW components.

Responsibilities

• Excellent Catia skills to create and modify parts and assemblies.
• Work independently to handle parts and sheetmetal commodity.
• Interact, analyze and create parts per design rules and requirements.
• Improve performance and efficiency of existing product designs.
• Lead or collaborate with team to meet dynamic project needs.

• Excellent Catia V5/V6 Skills
• Should have completed at least 1 New Product Development project
• Hands on experience in design and development of Sheetmetal/BIW parts.
• Good Knowledge on product and manufacturing process
• Good Communication skills
• Knowledge of GD&T & hands on experience on 2D/3D Drawings creation required.
• Ability to work /handle parts / Team & sheetmetal commodity Independently.
• Able to interact, analyze and create parts as per design Rules & requirements.
• Good Team Player /Lead and flexible to work in any streams of work as per dynamic requirement that may change from time to time
• Should be able to understand and willing to work under any challenging and tough environments
• Aid team improving the performance and efficiency of existing product design
