Job summary

Lifescience Laboratories is seeking an Assistant Manager Maintenance to ensure smooth, safe operation of plant machinery, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure at our factory. You will lead preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, and work with production to minimize downtime while keeping safety foremost.

In this role you will plan maintenance schedules, monitor electrical installations, manage spare parts, and document maintenance history to support reliable production performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, utilities and facility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain machinery: Ensure proper functioning of production machinery, equipment and related systems.
• Attend machinery breakdowns promptly and minimize downtime.
• Plan and implement preventive and periodic maintenance schedules.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and take corrective action.
• Electrical maintenance: Monitor electrical installations, panels, motors, wiring, lighting and other electrical systems.
• Coordinate electrical repairs and ensure safe operating conditions.
• Monitor power consumption and identify areas for improvement.
• Utilities & facility: Maintain compressors, pumps, water systems, DG set, A/C and other utilities.
• Ensure proper maintenance of building, flooring, plumbing, drainage, doors and other infrastructure.
• Coordinate with external technicians/service providers for specialized maintenance.
• Preventive maintenance: Prepare and maintain preventive schedules.
• Ensure timely servicing, lubrication, inspection and replacement of critical parts.
• Maintain equipment history and maintenance records.
• Spare parts & inventory: Identify critical spare parts and maintain stock.
• Raise purchase requirements for spares, tools and maintenance materials.
• Control maintenance expenditure without compromising safety or equipment reliability.
• Safety & compliance: Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely.
• Follow applicable electrical, fire, machinery and workplace safety requirements.
• Ensure proper isolation/lockout procedures before maintenance work.
• Support statutory inspections and maintenance of safety-related equipment.
• Documentation & reporting: Maintain breakdown records, preventive maintenance records and equipment history.
• Prepare periodic maintenance reports for management.
• Track downtime, recurring breakdowns and corrective actions.
• Coordination with production: Schedule maintenance without affecting production unnecessarily.
• Attend urgent breakdowns and restore equipment promptly.
• Participate in installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Job Purpose:
To ensure smooth, safe and reliable operation of all plant machinery, electrical systems, utilities and facility infrastructure by carrying out preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance of Machinery

• Ensure proper functioning of production machinery, equipment and related systems.
• Attend to machinery breakdowns promptly and minimize production downtime.
• Plan and implement preventive and periodic maintenance schedules.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and take corrective action.

Electrical Maintenance

• Monitor electrical installations, panels, motors, wiring, lighting and other electrical systems.

Utilities & Facility Maintenance

• Maintain compressors, pumps, water systems, DG set, air-conditioning and other utilities, wherever applicable.
• Ensure proper maintenance of building, flooring, plumbing, drainage, doors, shutters and other infrastructure.
• Coordinate with external technicians/service providers whenever specialized maintenance is required.

Preventive Maintenance

• Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure timely servicing, lubrication, inspection and replacement of critical parts.
• Maintain equipment history and maintenance records.

Spare Parts & Inventory

• Identify critical spare parts and maintain adequate stock.
• Raise purchase requirements for spares, tools and maintenance materials.
• Control maintenance expenditure without compromising safety or equipment reliability.

Safety & Compliance
