Job summary

Ssmatrix Consultancy in India is seeking a skilled technician to read 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, follow SOPs, and assemble mechanical components as per specifications.

You'll handle hand and power tools safely, identify fasteners, apply correct torque, and perform visual and functional checks after assembly to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting 3D CAD models.
• Reading and interpreting 2D engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances and symbols.
• Understanding and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identifying and using basic hand tools (spanners, screwdrivers, pliers).
• Operating power tools safely (drills, torque wrenches).
• Performing proper tool maintenance and storage.
• Identifying different types of fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers).
• Applying correct torque and tightening sequences.
• Assembling mechanical components per drawings and specifications.
• Conducting alignment and fitting of parts.
• Visual and functional checks post-assembly.
• Identifying bought-out components (bearings, couplings, motors) and explaining their working principles.

Drawing & Documentation Interpretation

• Reading and interpreting 3D CAD models.
• Reading and interpreting 2D engineering drawings (including dimensions, tolerances, and symbols).
• Understanding and accurately following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Tool Handling

• Identifying and using basic hand tools (e.g., spanners, screwdrivers, pliers).
• Operating power tools safely (e.g., drills, torque wrenches).
• Performing proper tool maintenance and storage.

Fasteners Knowledge

• Identifying different types of fasteners (e.g., bolts, nuts, washers).
• Applying correct torque and tightening sequences.
• Understanding thread types and locking mechanisms.

Parts Assembly

• Assembling mechanical components as per drawings and specifications.
• Performing alignment and fitting of parts.
• Conducting visual and functional checks post-assembly.

Bought-Out Parts Handling

• Identifying and understanding bought-out components (e.g., bearings, couplings, motors).
• Explaining the working principles of key components.
