Job summary

ULAMARA is expanding its FMCG sales and distribution network in Chennai and is seeking an energetic Area Sales Officer with experience in food/FMCG sales. The role focuses on achieving monthly targets, developing distributors and retailers, and ensuring product visibility across stores.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in FMCG sales, strong knowledge of the Chennai market, and willingness to work extensively in the field. A two-wheeler is preferred for this region.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of FMCG / Food / Beverage sales experience.
• Good knowledge of the Chennai market.
• Experience in distributor and retailer management preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Target-oriented and willing to work extensively in the field; two-wheeler preferred.

Responsibilities

• Achieve assigned monthly sales targets.
• Generate primary and secondary sales.
• Develop distributors, retailers, supermarkets, and new sales outlets.
• Conduct regular market visits and follow assigned beat plans.
• Build strong relationships with distributors and retailers.
• Ensure product availability, visibility, and placement in stores.
• Generate new retail accounts and improve repeat orders.
• Monitor distributor stock and secondary movement.
• Track competitor products, pricing, schemes, and market activity.
• Support product sampling and local promotional activities.
• Collect market and retailer feedback.
• Submit daily and weekly sales reports.
• Follow up on collections wherever applicable.
