Job summary

Trelleborg India Private Limited, based in Bangalore, is seeking an experienced Application Engineer – Oil & Gas to support the sales team with technical expertise and customer-focused solutions. You will manage projects, perform failure analyses, and provide technical guidance across seals, hydraulics and pneumatics, while ensuring customer satisfaction.

BE in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years of Oil & Gas/OEM experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-7 years of experience in Oil & Gas & OEM
• Experience in application engineering & design with customers
• Familiar with CRM Software
• Strong knowledge on business sales and marketing practices
• Knowledge in seals, hydraulics and pneumatics systems
• Process knowledge of Oil & Gas segment
• Knowledge on rubber/plastics products
• Excellent customer focus and understanding of total customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

• Study the EAR (Engineering action request), customer drawing/technical specification, seal selection and make the proposal drawing for potential customers
• Prototype development to support the seal installation
• In case of any seal failure, study and identify possible reasons; prepare failure analysis report
• Understanding customer technical training and visiting customers with CSR as required
• Handle projects and maintain project reports
• Track customer and supplier drawings, standards, quotes
• Promote new seals in customer applications
• Process knowledge of Oil & Gas segment

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer – Oil & Gas to join our sales Department. This position is based in Bangalore.

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the sales team and customers by addressing all types of technical enquiries related to products and applications. The role includes managing customer projects, conducting seal failure analysis to investigate performance-related issues, and recommending appropriate technical solutions.

The Application Engineer is expected to possess strong technical expertise and product knowledge to effectively respond to customer requirements, resolve technical challenges, and safeguard existing business while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Study the EAR (Engineering action request), customer drawing/technical specification, seal selection and make the proposal drawing for potential customers.

About the Ideal Candidate

Education & Experience:

• BE in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-7 years of experience in Oil & Gas & OEM
• Experience in application engineering & design with respective customers.
• Familiar with CRM Software.
• Strong Knowledge on Business Sales and Marketing Practices
• Knowledge in seals, Hydraulics and Pneumatics Systems Preferred
• Process knowledge of Oil & Gas segment.
• Knowledge on Rubber/Plastics products
• Excellent customer focus and understanding of total customer satisfaction

Strong communication, attitude, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills

Strong technical aptitude beneficial
